How can I become a member in the GPWA? New members are welcome. The two main requirements are a good command of the German language and engagement in professional endeavor or involvement in volunteer work. If this applies to you and you are interested in membership, please contact the GPWA by email: info@gpwa-usa.com or regular mail: GPWA, Inc. P.O. Box 476, Lake Orion, MI 48361-0476. Can I advertise events via the GPWA? Yes, members can advertise events on our website, at meetings and by email. How do I advertise services via the GPWA? The opportunity to advertise your services on our website is a membership perk and included in your yearly dues. You can also display fliers and brochures at our meetings and special events. When was the GPWA established? The GPWA started as an idea to bring German-speaking professional women together in a social setting. The original name of this organization was "Der Deutsche Professional Stammtisch". Due to its rapidly growing popularity and the increasing number of participants, Christina Griesser decided in 2002 to officially register the organization. The name, GPWA - German Professional Women's Association, was chosen by the members during one of the many brainstorming session that lead to the formation of the GPWA. Christina Griesser started the original German Professional Stammtisch in 1997. The GPWA was incorporated as an official organization in July 2002. Will my personal information be confidential? We will ensure to the best of our ability that your information does not become available to any outside source without your permission. Your information is kept confidential and is only used to contact you within our association. No, the German nationality is not a requirement for membership; however, the basic command of the German language is essential. Can I bring friends to the meetings? Guests are welcome to attend one meeting before deciding to obtain membership. Is the tip included in the dinner price? The tip and tax are included in the dinner price at Kabobgy. What happens at the monthly membership meetings? The meetings
provide an opportunity for networking and social interacting. Meetings
start at 6:00 pm and usually end around 10 pm. A dinner buffet is available
