Thema:
54 Blocks that Changed My Life For Good
How I rebuilt my tower and launched a national non-profit to hold up the lives of others

Speaker:
Molly MacDonald

The Pink Fund

Founder, Executive Director & Breast Cancer SurThrivor®

“My cancer diagnosis at age 54 felt like a Jenga game. It was as if another player entered the game and started removing key blocks from the base of my tower making it unstable. Most of the nonprofit players were focused on adding research and treatment blocks to the tower, but I could not find a single one to help me stabilize my tower while undergoing treatment. Other blocks were being pulled out from under me while I was in the battle for my life. Divorce, a job loss leaving me unable to afford the high COBRA health insurance premiums, paying the mortgage and other bills, putting food on the table and raising five children who shared in the fear and instability cancer was causing on my life’s tower. It looked as if my tower was going to topple. Thankfully, I was able to rebuild my own tower and from the struggle of my own experience, launched a national non-profit to help hold up the lives of others while cancer removes foundational blocks from theirs. Whether your Jenga battle is waged against breast cancer, COVID, or other calamity, we all need the support system to help hold us up when life tries to knock us down. Join me for an epic game of Jenga where we’ll talk about building your scaffold before your tower topples.”

Here are some tips to help us have a successful Zoom event:
1. If you’ve not previously used Zoom, we recommend you download and create an account before the event and become comfortable with some of the features such as – how to mute/unmute your microphone, review your background or consider using a virtual background.

While Fancy Friday attire is not required, this might be the time to polish off a nice sweater or blouse, do the best you can to tame your COVID hair and find that great shade of lipstick that you used to wear before face masks. 😉 Pour yourself a nice beverage and settle in front of your computer, tablet or smart phone for our event.

Remember, if you have to step away or there’s lots of background noise, please be considerate and mute your line and/or stop video. You may also want to learn how to switch between gallery and speaker view as we will be asking you to switch modes during our presentation.

2. For our conversation to remain pleasant for everyone – please refrain from gossip about others and allow only those who wish to share their feelings or experiences to do so themselves; no politics or slamming our governor, president, etc. however you may share how the policies have impacted your life and family personally.

Be considerate and allow others to share but also maintain the confidences of others…. What happens at GPWA, stays at GPWA. 😉

Thema:

Budapest: Pearl of the Danube

Hungary’s capital city has long been acclaimed as one of Europe’s most beautiful, with its parliament building frequently highlighted on advertisements for Danube river cruises. Come and travel through one of the Roman empire’s northern provinces and experience the spas, bridges, markets and historical areas of “Buda” and “Pest,” two cities which merged in 1873 to form the popular tourist destination we know today. We’ll look at geography, history, cuisine, landmarks, culture, and a few outings to popular nearby destinations.

Let Mariya Fogarasi pique your curiosity and entice you to come along on her tour of Budapest, a city where she spent six wonderful years exploring, mastering the language, and sampling delicious Hungarian specialties (accompanied, preferably, by traditional violin music).

Predicting how a house
will affect your life using Feng Shui

Sprecherin:
Leonor Estrada

Leonor´s work consists of analyzing the correlation between human beings and the effect of the different types of energy in their environment. She works with people that are interested in improving the quality of their live. They want to make it simpler and easier. Usually people are worried that there is negative energy in their house causing them sickness or chronic pain. There are others too, who are upset about not being able to reach their financial goals, working from home or having their own business.
And furthermore, the energy of their personal spaces is so bad that it starts to affect the way they treat others, especially the ones they love.
These situations have to do with the Feng Shui of our space, so it needs to be treated to make this place work for us.

Leonor is an accredited professional consultant of the International Feng Shui Association in Singapore. She got the Higher Diploma at the Feng Shui Research Center, led by Master Joseph Yu. Her passion for Feng Shui started when she moved to Shanghai in 2007. She moved to Birmingham, Michigan in 2017.

During this talk, she will share stories of how residential and business issues had been solved using feng shui. To make sure all get something out of this talk, she will allow time for participants to share about situations in their houses or businesses that are disturbing their health, finances or relationships and to analyze whether these issues have something to do with the feng shui of their house.
